This staff level position works on the Mecklenburg County Public Health Department Food Security team in the Office of Chronic Disease Policy & Prevention (OCDPP) and will report to the Food Security Supervisor in the OCDPP. The position utilizes evidence based best practices and policies to implement innovative and robust programs that equitably address healthy eating and physical activity with a focus on affordability of healthy foods and safe equitable transportation options to healthy foods. This includes advancing community partnerships and creating sustainable systems for collaborative engagement. These initiatives address Mecklenburg County’s public health priorities designed to increase geographical and economic access to foods. This position is responsible for creating, implementing, and sustaining food and nutrition strategic policy, system, and environmental change initiatives.
